Azerbaijan receives 154 song submissions for Eurovision 2025

İctimai TV has revealed the number of entries received – and it’s fewer than last year.

The quest to find the next Eurovision hopeful has begun in Azerbaijan. In late September, the broadcaster revealed that they received no less than 154 entries. However, despite the number seeming high, it is 60 fewer entries than last year.

It is not yet known how the Azerbaijani entry will be selected, but there has been an internal selection since 2015, and this tradition is expected to continue.

In this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Azerbaijan was represented by Fahree and Ilkin Dovlatov with the song “Özünlə apar”. The duo sadly did not make it to the semi-final, placing 14th out of 15 in semi-final one. You can see their performance here:

Eldar Gasimov to remain Music Producer

The past two years, former Eurovision winner Eldar Gasimov has acted as the Azerbaijani Official Music Producer. And it has been revealed that he will also be the music producer for next year’s contest in Basel. Eldar Gasimov famously won the contest in 2011 along with Nikki with the ballad “Running Scared”.

New Head of Delegation

Along with the news of Eldar Gasimov’s return, it has also been revealed that Nurlana Jafarova will be the new Azerbaijani Head of Delegation. Jafarova previously held the role of Head of Press.
