This week MTV have released the nominees for the MTV EMAs 2024. Otherwise known as the Europe Music Awards, the European version of their annual Video Music Awards. Among the nominees in the regional awards are many names from the world of Eurovision, including 2024 winner Nemo, France’s Slimane and many more!
Eurovision stars feature in regional awards for MTV EMAs 2024
Once again, the worlds of Eurovision and the mainstream music industry collide. This year, five Eurovision artists feature in the regional categories of the MTV EMAs 2024. There are three nominations for representatives from the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 – winning ‘The Code’ artist Nemo (Best Swiss Act), Slimane (Best French Act) and Angelina Mango (Best Italian Act). As well as this, there are nominations for Noa Kirel (Best Israeli Act) and two-time Eurovision participant, Mahmood (Best Italian Act).
Also within the list of nominations are many artists from our favourite national finals, achieving domestic recognition for their music:
- Ana Mena (Sanremo 2022) – ‘Best Spanish Act’
- Annalisa (Sanremo 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2024) – ‘Best Italian Act’
- Bárbara Tinoco – (Festival da Canção 2020, 2023) – ‘Best Portuguese Act’
- Ghali (Sanremo 2024) – ‘Best Italian Act’
- The Kolors (Sanremo 2018, 2024) – ‘Best Italian Act’
- Lola Indigo (Operación Triunfo 2017) – ‘Best Spanish Act’
A special mention must also go to Bárbara Bandeira, the daughter of Portugal’s 1999 representative Rui Bandeira, who is nominated for ‘Best Portuguese Act’.

The MTV EMAs 2024 will take place in Manchester at the new Co-op Live arena. The show will air live across MTV’s channels to 180 countries on Sunday November 10. With the pre-show starting at 7pm (GMT) and main show commencing at 8pm (GMT).
