Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has confirmed it has received 331 submissions for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 taking place in Basel, Switzerland next May. Once again the broadcaster has opted for an internal selection process.
331 song submissions for AVROTROS
Following ongoing discussions with the EBU and its Reference Group, AVROTROS revealed they were satisfied with the outcomes to restructure safeguarding measures for Eurovision 2025 and beyond. Thus, the broadcaster confirmed its participation in the Basel contest next May. Despite much speculation, Joost revealed on social media that he would not return at this time.
Over the next few weeks, a Selection Committee will assess the 331 submissions. From this, a number of acts will be chosen to perform live for the committee. After this time, AVROTROS will confirm the act and song that will represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. The members of the committee are:
- Jacqueline Govaert
- Jaap Reesema
- Carolien Borgers
- Hila Noorzai
- Cornald Maas
- Sander Lantinga
Furthermore, AVROTROS have confirmed that they will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The submission window will open on August 1 2025.
