The Armenian national broadcaster AMPTV has confirmed their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Furthermore, they have announced the return of the national final Depi Evratesil to select their next Eurovision representative.
Armenia confirms participation for Eurovision 2025
During a recent television commercial, AMPTV confirmed Armenia’s presence in Basel next May. Much to people’s surprise, the advert also revealed the return of Depi Evratesil. Indicating that the broadcaster plans to use a national final to select their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Typically, Armenia prefers to internally select their Eurovision acts. However, in the years of 2017, 2018 and 2020 the live national final, Depi Evratesil was the method of choice. The last winner of the national final format was Athena Manoukian with, ‘Chains on You’. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic saw the cancellation of that years’ Eurovision. Further announcements regarding the format and regulations of the national final are expected in the coming weeks.
