Michelle Hunziker, Sandra Studer and Hazel Brugger will host Eurovision 2025 in Basel

In a press event hosted by the EBU, the hosts for Eurovision 2025 have been announced. The all-female trio of Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker and Sandra Studer will present the contest at  St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.

Hazel and Sandra will host the First Semi-Final on 13 May and the Second Semi-Final on 15 May. Michelle will join them for the Grand Final on 17 May.

About the hosts

Hazel Brugger, 31, is a comedian, slam poet and television presenter. She was born to a Swiss father and a German mother in San Diego, USA. She grew up in a town close to Zürich and now lives in the Darmstadt area, in Germany. She has won several prestigious comedy awards and is sure to bring wit and humour to the Eurovision hosting team.

Sandra Studer, 51, is a television presenter and singer from Zürich, born to a Swiss father and a Spanish mother. She represented Switzerland in 1991 in Rome under the stage name Sandra Simó. She came fifth with her song “Canzone per te”. Since representing her country, she has become a household name in the Swiss Eurovision sphere. She has already hosted Switzerland’s national selection, has been the Swiss spokesperson, and has provided the German commentary for Swiss viewers.

Michelle Hunziker, 47, is one of Switzerland’s best-known international media personalities. Michelle was born in the Lugano District, in Italian-speaking Switzerland, to a Dutch mother and a Swiss father. She moved to Milan, Italy at the age of 17 to become a model. In 1998, she married Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti. The couple separated in 2002. Michelle began her successful television and media career in Italy, later moving to Swiss and German media. In 2007 and 2018, she hosted the Festival di Sanremo.

Arena plus hosts

In addition to this trio, the Swiss broadcaster also announced the hosts of the Arena plus: the St. Jakob-Park football stadium will be transformed into a public viewing area where 36.000 Eurovision fans will be able to watch the live shows together. The Arena plus will also feature an exclusive pre-show with live performances by, among others, Baby Lasagna and Anna Rossinelli. The pre-show and public viewing will be hosted by Mélanie Freymond and Sven Epiney. Mélanie is a host for both radio and television on Switzerland’s French-speaking channels. Sven has been Switzerland’s German-language Eurovision commentator since 2008 and will continue this duty alongside hosting the Arena plus.
