The mammoth San Marinese selection has reached its “semi-finals” stage, with the first of eight shows being broadcast yesterday night. One song has qualified directly to the final, with three others going to the second-chance “repêchage” semi-final.
Four entries to the next round
Thirty-four (34) entries performed in this first show, with a jury of four members selecting the top four songs to get to the next stage.
The song that came first will go directly to the final (which is due to be host on March 8th), while the next three will go to a repêchage, second-chance semifinal.
The top four acts were (along with their nationalities):
- 🇮🇹 KiNG FOO – “The edge of the world” (Finalist)
- 🇮🇹 Il Solito Dandy – “Millenial” (second chance)
- 🇭🇺 Carson Coma – “Daddy said no” (second chance)
- 🇮🇹 Effemme – “Fuori di me” (second chance)
The make it three Italian acts and one Hungarian act through the next round. Last year, the Spanish band Megara won the selection to represent San Marino at Eurovision, and was the first San Marinese act since 2019 not to come from Italy.
A mammoth selection process
Una Voce per San Marino 2025 will have six “selection” semi-finals, a special semi-final only open to San Marinese citizens, and a repêchage semi-final, before finally getting to its final on March 8th.
