After a show of three hours, and two rounds of voting, the first semi-final of the Portuguese national selection has finished. Six songs have qualified for the final, to be held in two weeks.
Two rounds for a televote wildcard
Festival da Canção’s semi-finals use two rounds to determine its qualifiers. In the first round, a 50/50 mix of televote and jury select five first qualifiers. In the second round, a single, sixth finalist is selected by a single new round of televote, making it a sort of televote wildcard.
The six qualifiers are, in order of announcement:
- Jéssica Pina – “Calafrio“ (1st round)
- Josh – “Tristeza“ (1st round)
- Marco Rodrigues – “A Minha Casa“ (1st round)
- Bluay – “Ninguém“ (1st round)
- Margarida Campelo – “Eu sei que o amor“ (1st round)
- Peculiar – “Adamastor“ (2nd round)
