Eurovision is here! Delegations have been arriving in Basel in the last few days and rehearsals started on May 3. After closing the first rehearsals to the press in 2022, the EBU has now done away with TikTok videoclips. They will instead release sets of three photographs a day after each rehearsal, as well as description of the proceedings on their official channels. As such, today, we cover yesterday’s rehearsals, and continue with Poland, with “Gaja”, second rehearsal of the day.

What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account. Poland’s stage director is allegedly Jacek Dybowski.
- Justyna will begin her performance by descending from the roof of the arena: this would likely look like the “flying” performance of the Polskie Kwalifikacje performance, which arrived later in the song. She will also finish the song by being lifted up again, “against a backdrop of fire-breathing dragons”
- Justyna will wear a black catsuit “very similar to the one she wore at Polskie Kwalifikacje, but without the shoulder fringing”
- She will be accompanied by three male dancers and one female dancers, wearing “very similar to the one she wore at Polskie Kwalifikacje, but without the shoulder fringing” and performing a complex choreography: this remains “Gladiator” or “Xena the Warrior”-like
- The back-wall LED screens will show “spinning planets and water and lightning and lava like it’s the birth of the universe”.
- Pyros flame jets will complete each chorus and the final moments, with the main stage bathed in smoke
