Eurovision is here! Delegations have been arriving in Basel in the last few days and rehearsals started on May 3. After closing the first rehearsals to the press in 2022, the EBU has now done away with TikTok videoclips. They will instead release sets of three photographs a day after each rehearsal, as well as description of the proceedings on their official channels. As such, today, we cover yesterday’s rehearsals, from the second half of the second semi-finalists, and continue with Finland, the last rehearsal of the day, with “Ich komme”.

What happened on stage?

- The performance keeps the spirit of UMK, but upscaled for Basel.
- Erika wears a black outfit covered in golden “nails” or studs, and is once again alone on stage
- She starts on a circular “gold plinth” and leaves it after the first chorus to walk down the walkway to the frame stage.
- She heads back to the main stage to get on her giant microphone, like she does in UMK, for the big finish.
- In terms of LEDS, it’s also similar to UMK, with giant “ICH KOMME” graphics and a “ERIKA” for the end.
- In terms of pyrotechnics, there has not been any fire jets but some smoke jets on the walkway
