Eurovision is here! All the delegations are in Basel and most of the semi-finalists have completed their two rehearsals. The automatic qualifiers, however, have not. Their first rehearsals came yesterday, and we will cover them today, now that we have the pictures from these rehearsals. We continue with Italy, the fifth rehearsal of the day, with “Volevo essere un duro”.

What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account.
- Lucio wears a yellow shoudlered bolero jacket, with a transparent top and high boots, as he does in the official video, and wears his white makeup
- He begins sitting at a very long piano, and performs “a third of the song” there, with Tommaso Ottomano (the guitarist and co-writer, also present in the Sanremo performance), and then goes to the centre of the stage with his guitar
- There are two retro speakers at the back of the stage, including a very big square one (about 4m high and wide).
- The TV audience will also have two unique features:
- A sepia filter effect for the entire performance, creating a retro atmosphere, in line with the whole Lucio Corsi vibe – it is unclear if the effect has been applied to the official pictures (in Austria’s case, the pictures were in black and white), they do look a bit sepia but the lightning has that effect too
- There are subtitles in English, translating the lyrics of the song.
- Lucio Corsi teased it, and it seems it is happening: he will play the harmonica before the final chorus, apparently live on stage
