Germany’s national broadcaster ARD has announced its Eurovision 2026 selection – Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2026 will take place on February 28.

Today, German broadcaster ARD has confirmed its plans for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2026 taking place in Vienna, Austria next May. On February 28 Germany will hold its televised selection, Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2026.
Although no official details of the selection format have been confirmed, SWR have announced that a songwriting camp is already in progress. Along with the creation of shortlists of prospective artists and songs. These will be assessed through the use of an expert panel, international jury and public jury to select the artists to compete in the live broadcast on February 28. More details will be revealed in January.
Following the handover of Eurovision responsibility from NDR to SWR, Germany has announced a new Head of Delegation to oversee the 2026 selection process and journey to the Vienna stage next May.
