UMK 2026 artists revealed – first song out tonight

Finnish broadcaster YLE revealed the line-up of UMK 2026, its national selection for Eurovision, in a special programme this evening. The first song will be released later tonight, with the full line-up released over the next few days.

The seven artists who will take part in the Finnish selection are, in “reveal order”:

  1. Etta – “Million Dollar Smile”
  2. Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen – “Liekinheitin”
  3. Komiat – “Lululai”
  4. Sinikka Monte – “Ready To Leave”
  5. Antti Paalanen – “Takatukka”
  6. Chachi – “Cherry Cake”
  7. Kiki – “Rakkaudenkipee”

“Million Dollar Smile” is the first entry, set to be released on Youtube tonight at 23:00 CET (midnight in Finland), with “Liekinheitin” released tomorrow at the same time. The five next songs will then be released starting on Sunday, until next Thursday (the idea being that each song is released at midnight on each weekday starting tomorrow, in Finland).

The entries were selected by six juries: one made of professionnals and five composed with audience members of varying backgrounds.

This season’s artist and song lineup includes a charismatic performer making their debut release at UMK, an artist representing a very current sound, an internationally in-demand crowd-pleaser, a pioneer of their genre, a compelling duo of two distinctive performers, a dramatic pop track by a stunning vocalist, and a striking ballad from an internationally oriented artist.

Tapio Hakanen, chair of the professionnal jury

UMK will once again be held over a single show, on the last day of February, on what will be a very packed Super Saturday of five finals (for Norway, Germany, Bulgaria and Italy, alongside Finland) as well as two qualification shows (the last heat of Melodifestivalen in Sweden, and the second semi-final of Portugal’s Festival da Canção).

The show will be held in Nokia Arena in Tampere, and will be used to select the Finnish representative to Eurovision 2026, with a mix of jury (25%) and public (75%) voting.
