In a special broadcast at noon CET, Norwegian broadcaster NRK has revealed nine of the ten artists for Melodi Grand Prix 2026.
Eight artists and a returning Alexander Rybak
These are the eight artists:
- Alexander Rybak – song to be announced
- Hedda Mae – “Snap Back”
- Mileo – “Frankenstein”
- Emma – “Northern Lights”
- Storm – “Lullaby”
- Leonardo Amor – “Prayer”
- Silke – “Forevermore”
- Jonas Lovv – “Yayaya”
This marks the second comeback of Alexander Rybak, the Eurovision 2009 winner, who also won MGP in 2018 to represent his country in Lisbon. His entry has not yet been confirmed, but will be one of the eight songs from his new album “Fairytales Too”. He called his fan to help him choose the entry, which will be confirmed on 26 January.
Mileo, of Australian and Norwegian heritage, also comes back after taking part in MGP 2024 with “You’re mine“, which did not make it to the final at the time but did find a lot of popularity among Eurovision fans.
As for Silke, she was the (uncredited) female voice in “Ekko inni meg“, from MGP 2023, by Jone.
Snippets for the seven confirmed entries can be found on this official NRK page, with the full songs released on 26 January, along with the choice of the ninth artist (who will be selected through a radio competition between eight artists).
