Following the close of the submission window, TVR the Romanian national broadcaster announced a total 101 songs were received for Selecţia Naţională 2026, now the broadcaster has revealed the 10 finalists that have advanced from the Eurovision 2026 Open Workshop.

After the closure of the three-week submission period, TVR confirmed the full list of the 101 candidate entries for the upcoming Eurovision 2026 selection show Selecția Națională 2026. Following an internal review process, the broadcaster created a 68 act shortlist.

Other notable names in the line-up include international superstar Edward Maya of ‘Stereo Love’ fame, which topped the charts in nine countries. As well as this, Olivia Addams who has become one of Romania’s most popular chart acts of 2020s.
Selecţia Naţională 2026 finalists
These Semi-Finalists took part in TVR’s Eurovision 2026 Open Workshop on 9 February at 15:00 CET and 10-11 February at 10:00 CET. Once the live auditions concluded the broadcaster confirmed the names and songs of 10 selected finalists.

A vote to select an 11th act through a wildcard round will also take place. This will be determined by YouTube views for the following acts:

- Impact – “Bengalo”
- WRS – “All the Way”
The live Final takes place on March 4. A jury only vote will determine the winner who will represent Romania on the Vienna stage later this May.
Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest
Out of 23 total participations, Romania has never won the Eurovision Song Contest, but has appeared in the Grand Final 19 times. Their best results are two third place finishes – with Luminița Anghel and Sistem ‘s ‘Let Me Try’ in 2005 and Paula Seling and Ovi’s ‘Playing With Fire’ in 2010.
At the Liverpool contest, Theodore Andre represented with the nation with, ‘D.G.T. (Off and On)’. He finished in 15th place in the second Semi-Final with the dreaded ‘nil points’. The first time this has happened in Romania’s history.
