It’s Delta Goodrem for Australia at Eurovision 2026

Australian broadcaster SBS has finally announced who will represent Australia in Vienna in May: it’s Delta Goodrem, with the song “Eclipse”.

The entry was released on the official Eurovision Youtube channel at 19:00 CET, early in the Australian night.

Delta Goodrem is a multi-award-winning Australian singer, songwriter, and actress whose careers spans over two decades.

She rose to prominence in 2002 through her role as the shy aspiring singer Nina Tucker on the popular soap opera Neighbours, a part that successfully boosted her real-life music career, with the release of her song “Born to try” in the broadcast and in real life. The following year, her debut studio album, Innocent Eyes, became a monumental success, spending 29 non-consecutive weeks at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, selling over four million copies worldwide to become the second-best-selling Australian album of all time.

She’s since built a successful career in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, where several of her songs have reached the charts’ top 10. Hinted as a potential Eurovision representative ever since Australia’s debut in 2015 (already in Vienna), she toured in Europe these last few years and has been rumoured to be the next Eurovision act for her country for a few weeks. These rumours are now confirmed.

After years of speculation, the moment has arrived. Everything has aligned for Delta to represent Australia at Eurovision, and there’s no better time than 2026 in the Song Contest’s 70th year, back where Australia’s participation began in 2015. To mark this milestone, we wanted to send one of Australia’s most iconic artists to the world’s most iconic stage. Her powerful voice is balanced by restraint and an openness that draws people in, creating performances that feel both intimate and expansive. Europe, get ready. Australia is lighting up the stage.
