Eurovision Asia website leak points to Bangkok 2026 contest, no official confirmation issued

A website linked to the proposed Eurovision Asia Song Contest briefly appeared online and indicated that the inaugural event could take place on Nov. 14, 2026, in Bangkok, before being taken offline, with no confirmation from organizers.

Material from the site, preserved in screenshots and reports, stated that the contest would be held in the Thai capital on that date and would feature participating countries selecting entries through national processes.

The same information circulated through Eurovision-focused communities and social media accounts, which cited the now-removed website as the source of the date and location.

According to details associated with the site, a platform identified as Zoop was presented as the “official digital platform and fan engagement partner.” Promotional graphics tied to the site described features including live broadcast access, fan interaction, prediction games and additional content tied to the contest. Those claims have not been confirmed by organizers.

The website also suggested an initial group of participating countries, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, though no official list has been announced.

The site went offline shortly after being discovered, and no formal announcement has been issued by the European Broadcasting Union or Voxovation, the company involved in developing Eurovision-branded projects outside Europe.

The Eurovision Asia Song Contest has been in development for several years. The project was first announced in 2016 and was later shelved in 2021 after delays.

In 2025, Eurovision officials stated that no confirmed plans for an Asian edition had been announced, even as some national broadcasters explored potential participation and selection formats.

In December 2025, Voxovation founder Christer Björkman said preparations for Eurovision Asia were ongoing, with a potential public reveal expected, though no timeline was confirmed.

The emergence of the website and related graphics has renewed attention on the project, but the status of Eurovision Asia, including its date, location and partners, remains unconfirmed.
