Eurovision is back! Delegations have landed/arrived in Vienna these last few days and rehearsals started last weekend. Just like last year, for the first rehearsal, the EBU releases information on the day of each rehearsal, with a sets of three photographs published the day after. As such, today, we cover yesterday’s rehearsals of the automatic qualifiers. The second on stage was Germany, with “Fire”.
🇩🇪 Germany – Sarah Engels – First rehearsal
The following pictures have been published by the official Eurovision accounts.
What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account.
- Sarah wears a gold bodysuit that’s designed like fire, with the corset shaped like flames and rhinestones looking like embers
- Four dancers join her, also dressed in gold
- The performances uses a square-shaped platform prop on the main stage, looking a bit like the platform on which Loreen sang “Tattoo” in 2023
- Sarah begins lying down on the prop, performing “a piano ballad version” of the song, hinting at a remix of the opening section
- The song then explodes into the pop act that we know
- It closes with pyros, as expected
Here’s the small message Sarah had for the Eurovision fans after her rehearsal:
And that’s it for the first rehearsals of the semi-finalists! But stay tuned for further coverage of the closed rehearsals, and for our live coverage on the ground starting tomorrow, which will include (among other things) the full dress rehearsals and the live shows, live from Vienna!
