Eurovision is back! Delegations have landed/arrived in Vienna these last few days and rehearsals started last weekend. Just like last year, for the first rehearsal, the EBU releases information on the day of each rehearsal, with a sets of three photographs published the day after. As such, today, we cover yesterday’s rehearsals of the automatic qualifiers. The first on stage was Italy, with “Per sempre sì”.
🇮🇹 Italy – Sal da Vinci – First rehearsal
The following pictures have been published by the official Eurovision accounts.
What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account.
- Sal wears a white suit specially made by a Neapolitan designer. He is accompanied by four dancers: three men and a woman.
- The staging is organised in four section/acts, which are very litteral representations of a wedding
- It starts with Sal at the front of the stage, with three dancers on the main stage: a groom and his two best men, checking the threads (for a costume, probably) in the planning of his wedding
- The second act shows the preparation of the reception, with dancers doing backflip and a chandelier lowered above the stage
- In the third act, the bride arrives from the catwalk and Sal officiates the ceremony
- The final act features the reception and the dance, with fireworks on the main screen
Here’s the small message Sal had for the Eurovision fans after his rehearsal:
Stay tuned for further coverage of the closed rehearsals, and for our live coverage on the ground starting tomorrow, which will include (among other things) the full dress rehearsals and the live shows, live from Vienna!
