ORF opens song submission window for Eurovision 2027

After a successful hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, Austrian broadcaster ORF are now looking ahead to who will represent the nation next May in Burgas for Eurovision 2027.

As Austria’s national broadcaster ORF hands over the Eurovision reigns to Bulgaria, attention now turns to who could be the next act to fly the Austrian flag next May in Burgas. Once again, ORF reverts to its tried and trusted internal selection method. Interested acts have until September 18 to submit their proposed entries. Acts will be expected to provide at least one or more complete songs or demos, background information on their music experience and relevant contact details or links to their social media profiles.

From 2017 to 2025, Austria used a combination of internal judging panels and live auditions to choose its Eurovision representatives. Over the ten years, Austria found increased success with this process. It resulted in three top 15 results, including a third place in 2018 for Cesar Sampson and of course, victory in 2025 for JJ.

Last year, Austria opted for a national final – Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich?. Cosmó won the right to represent the host nation with, ‘Tanzschein’. During the Vienna Final, Cosmó placed 24th with 6 points.
