Eurovision is here! All the delegations are in Basel and most of the semi-finalists have completed their two rehearsals. The automatic qualifiers, however, have not. Their first rehearsals came yesterday, and we will cover them today, now that we have the pictures from these rehearsals. We continue the United Kingdom, the third rehearsal of the day, with “What The Hell Just Happened”.

What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account and the production notes of the British delegation.
- The outfits have been described as “Bridgerton meets Moulin Rouge”, with Lauren in pale blue, Holly-Anne in pink and Charlotte in yellow
- Two props are used in the staging :
- A boudoir, on one side of the frame stage, presumably, and is a padded screen with a heart-shaped hole in the middle
- A fallen chandelier in the centre of the main stage, 2.5-to-3m high, slumped on one side, with the lights flashing and changing colours during the song
- The girls start in the boudoir, and walk to the chandelier during the first chorus, to symbolise the memories of the party they had
- They come back to the boudoir for the final moments of the song
- LED screens on the floor are used, though we have no information on the graphics
- The British delegation has stated that some pyrotechnics are planned but none were used for this rehearsal.
This year, the performance from Azerbaijan is staged by Ace Bowerman, who is also working on the staging of Azerbaijan’s act this year.
Stay tuned for further coverage today, with the rehearsals of yesterday from the automatic qualifiers, and the second rehearsals of the last semi-finalists. And stay tuned for our live coverage on the ground starting on May 10, which will include (among other things) the full dress rehearsals and the live shows, live from Basel!
