After a successful comeback in the Vienna contest, TVR the national broadcaster of Romania has confirmed it will return to the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 taking place in Bulgaria next May.

Recently, Romania’s national broadcaster held a board meeting to decide Romania’s Eurovision future. Following the meeting TVR confirmed that with 11 votes in favour and only one abstention, Romania will be participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Along with the success of Alexandra Căpitănescu, TVR are hoping an early announcement of intent will provide artists, songwriters and producers with sufficient time to prepare. As well as allowing TVR executives time to organise the format and schedule for Selecția națională 2027. The aim is to attract established artists while also promoting new artists both domestically and internationally.
