Canada begins artist search for Eurovision 2027 debut

Earlier this year, CBC/Radio-Canada announced its Eurovision Song Contest debut. Now, the Canadian broadcaster has outlined the details in the hunt for its first representative for Eurovision 2027 taking place in Burgas, Bulgaria next May.

After confirming its Eurovision Song Contest debut, CBC/Radio-Canada are ready to find the first artist that will represent the North American nation to take the stage in Burgas next May. The broadcaster has revealed that artist applications will open on August 31. An online portal will provide full eligibility details for interested acts, with the window closing on September 9.

From this, a shortlist of artists will be chosen and a full public announcement expected in the Autumn. The artist selection will be showcased using the Eurovision Song Contest Canada website. The platform will feature uploaded videos of the selected finalists, with the public being able to have its say in an online vote. These votes will be combined with the jury votes from a panel of music experts to choose the Canadian act for Eurovision 2027.

The winning act will then collaborate with a team of industry professionals to create the first Canadian Eurovision entry.
