OGAE Song Contest 2026 entries announced

OGAE Italy have confirmed the entries that will compete in the OGAE Song Contest 2026. The hosts have announced that 27 songs will participate in the 40th edition of the Eurovision related fan contest.

Beginning in 1986, the OGAE Song Contest is the oldest OGAE contest, uniting all the national OGAE clubs in a music fan contest. Each club puts forward their favourite original song from their country. After which, fans from every club judge and vote for their favourite track. Since 2023, the format has merged with the now defunct OGAE Video Contest that was held from 2003-2021.

The rules, (courtesy of OGAE):

  1. Have been released on an album or as a single on vinyl, CD or as a digital download, or as a video, no earlier than the start of the year prior to the contest (i.e. for the 2026 contest, songs must have been released on or after 1 January 2025).
  2. Be an original version (not a remix).
  3. Not include samples of any other song.
  4. Not have competed in the Eurovision Song Contest, Junior Eurovision Song Contest, OGAE Second Chance Contest or any related public pre-selections.
  5. If a music video exists, the video must have been released by the relevant artist.
  6. Be a studio version, not a live recording or part of a film, etc.
  7. Be performed by an artist with the nationality/residency of the nominating OGAE national club. For groups, at least one performer must be of the nationality/residency of the nominating OGAE national club.
  8. Be of a maximum duration of 5 minutes.

Last year, OGAE Italy won for the sixth time, after achieving back to back victories. The winning entry was, ‘Born With A Broken Heart’ by Eurovision 2021 winner, Damiano David. The running order for the OGAE Song Contest 2026 is as follows:
