Following the success of Delta Goodrem in Vienna, SBS opens a song portal to find its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria next May.
🇦🇺 SBS to continue with internal selection process
At the end of a hugely successful year for SBS, which saw Delta Goodrem achieve Australia;s best result since 2016, the broadcaster now turns its attentions to Eurovision 2027. The search is now on to find the next act to take to the stage in Burgas, Bulgaria next May.
The Australian Eurovision broadcaster has revealed it is looking for ‘distinctive’ and ‘contemporary songs’. Once again the broadcaster is selecting the artist internally. A method it has preferred since it previously held, Eurovision – Australia Decides from 2019 to 2022. Now it is SBS who decides and to help them, they will open the SBS Song Portal from October 17 to November 7.
Artists and songwriters may submit their entries to the platform, abiding by the current Eurovision Song Contest guidelines. At least one Australian citizen must have a songwriting credit on each entry submitted. Entering the Song Portal is not a guarantee of being selected for Eurovision. The Song Portal was previously used in 2021.
