Serbia has chosen their entrant for the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. 11 year old Lena Stamenković has been selected internally by broadcaster RTS.
Lena’s song will, appropriately, be called Lenina pesma: “Lena’s song.” The song was written by Lena herself as well as Leontina Vukomanović and it was arranged by Dušan Alagić. RTS expect to reveal the song soon.
Lena rose to fame earlier this year on one of Serbia’s most popular talent shows for children, ‘Pinkove zvezdice’. She eventually finished fourth in the competition. Serbia returned to the competition last year with the song Svet u mojim očima by Emilija Ðonin, which managed to finish tenth. Serbia’s best result ever was a third place.
Serbia’s artist reveal comes on the day that Junior Eurovision Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev announced that the finalised list of participants in the 2015 contest will be revealed next week. So far, fifteen countries have confirmed participation. Among those are returners Albania and FYR Macedonia, as well as débuting nation Ireland.
