Today it has been revealed that the host of this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be none other than Poli Genova.
The name will be a familiar one to Eurovision fans, as she represented Bulgaria at the 2011 contest in Dusseldorf. The singer and presenter impressed the producers at castings held for the role, where her confidence on stage and in front of the camera and her excellent English were factors that helped her land the role.
Poli is excited to start work – she had this to say about her part in the contest:
I am really happy that Bulgaria is hosting the most prestigious song contest for young artists in Europe and that BNT decided that I am the right person to host it. I can’t wait to discover this event and I am sure it will be unforgettable! Let’s support the young artists together because they are our future.
As well as her previous Eurovision experience, Poli has also been a judge on the Bulgarian X Factor series and provided her voice to the Bulgarian release of The Smurfs. She will present the Junior Contest when it comes live from Sofia on Saturday 21 November.
