ESCXTRA are live from Lisbon for day 6 of rehearsals ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Armenia, Switzerland, Ireland, Cyprus, Norway, Romania, Serbia, San Marino, Denmark, Portugal, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.

The final rehearsal today is from Madame Monsieur for France. We have just watched their latest run through of Mercy live on screen and here is our initial reaction.
Staging
We begin with a slow fade up of Émilie’s face followed by a wide shot of the pair of them. We have dry ice surrounding the stage with some minimal white and teal coloured lighting which changes to blue as the chorus begins. As the second verse begins, they both cross the two separate bridges and meet in the middle of the platform. The camera shots really excel here, catching the interaction between the two of them beautifully. During the final chorus, the stage lights change to red and yellow with the final shot catching the pair of them face to face.

Vocals
Furthermore, the vocals here can not be faulted. Émilie sings the song comfortably.
Costume
Émilie and Jean are dressed in similar outfits to their national final performance with black turtle neck tops. Émilie wears her signature red lipstick and has her hair tied back. Jean-Karl plays a red guitar and the pair of them are in red and white trainers. (though we hope they get rid of them as they do not match well )
