The latest artist to rehearse for the second time is Jessica Mauboy for Australia. We have just watched their latest run through of We Got Love live on screen and here is our initial reaction.
There are no substantial changes for this rehearsal. Jessica seems to be performing more arm choreography throughout the track, reminiscent of the moves she performs in both “Sea of Flags” and in the “We Got Love” music video.
The camerawork seems polished. During the verses, the majority of lighting comes from the LED strip lights alone, with the main stage lights only turning on during the choruses. During the drum middle 8, there are lots of fast camera switches and dramatic movements from Jessica.
The overall lighting theme for the performance is purple and neon blue, giving a modern feel like the music video.
Camera shots in this performance: 84
Unfortunately, Jessica is struggling with her high notes in this run through particularly in the latter third of the song. Nevertheless, she is touching her in-ears and also drinks water at the end of the song. Therefore, there seem to be sound issues and/or vocal tiredness at play for Jessica which will hopefully be solved in future rehearsals.
Jessica is still wearing a short metallic dress, which is sparkly and pink and purple in colour.
