Yesterday on 6th of June plenty of Eurovision artist celebrated their birthday. Today however, there are three Eurovision ladies that have a birthday. Their Eurovision performances were very far apart, that is in the ’60, ’80 and this year! Sophie Carle, Anneke Grönloh and Franka Batelić were born on this day!
Anneke Grönloh, 76
In 1964, Netherlands selected the famous singer Anneke to be their representative at Eurovision Song Contest. Which means she sang “Jij Bent Mijn Leven” on the stage in Copenhagen, Denmark. At the end of the show, she got 2 points which matched Belgium’s score and therefore they finished in joint 10th place.
Sophie Carle, 54
Luxembourg went with Sophie Carle to Eurovision in 1984. Therefore she got to perform in her home country. Because Luxembourg had won its 5th victory the year before. She sang the love song “100% d’amour”, and received 39 points, that is she earned the 10th place.

Croatia picked Franka to go on their behalf at Eurovision in 2017. Therefore she sang “Crazy” at the first Semi-Final in Lisbon. Unfortunately for her she did not advance to the final! Here is a small live interview we did with her during the rehearsals in Lisbon!
We all here at escXtra would like to wish these three ladies a wonderful happy birthday!
