Putting the Czech Republic on the Eurovision map

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest was a record-breaking one for the Czech Republic. Mikolas secured the central European nation their first ever top 10 finish at the contest, with a sixth-place finish for his own composition Lie to Me. Prior to this year, the Czech Republic’s only appearance in a Eurovision final came courtesy of Gabriela Gunčíková who finished 25th in 2016 with I Stand.
During the Eurovision fortnight in Lisbon, Mikolas underwent a remarkable journey from injuring his back in first rehearsal to performing a backflip in his grand final performance. The entire Eurovision fan community was overjoyed with Mikolas’ commitment to the contest and the general public have also supported Lie to Me by getting the track into charts all over Europe.
Furthermore, Mikolas kindly spent a great deal of time with the ESCXTRA team in Lisbon. Why not have a look at our live stream interview with him a few days prior to the first semi-final?

All of the ESCXTRA team congratulate Mikolas on receiving this honour from Forbes Czech Republic! Make sure you add your congratulations to Mikolas in the comments below!
