Some different news are coming from the Netherlands today. According to several Dutch newspapers, earlier this week the grandfather, uncle and brother of Sieneke Baum-Peeters, got arrested for running a drug lab. Just an accident made the lab public.
What happened:
The police discovered a drug lab Monday morning at a truck company in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. They discovered it because a fire broke out in the building. In the shed, the agents found a laboratory with chemicals that are often used to make hard drugs. The men of 71, 47 and 24 are still in prison. Sadly her family often made some negative news. Her grandfather was once sentenced to years of imprisonment for murder. Her father got into an argument in 2013 in a bar where Sieneke celebrated her bachelor party.
Sieneke shocked about the news
The news hit the singer’s family like a bomb. The manager of Sieneke tells the Dutch media, that the singer is very upset: “She is very shocked at everything that is happening in her family right now”. According to the management, an extensive response is currently not possible “due to the large uncertainty that exists”. But they do know, that Sieneke “fully and proudly focuses on her family and singing career.” The performances of the singer this weekend will continue as usual. Back in February, Sieneke gave birth to her second child.
Sieneke represented the Netherlands in 2010 with her song “Ik ben verliefd (Sha-la-lie)” finishing in 14th place in the semi-final in Oslo. During this chaotic time, we wish Sieneke and her family all the best for the future.
