Jimmie Wilson releases a new single “Taxi Ride” with DJ FXMO

On July 31, 2018, American-born German singer and Sammarinese Eurovision representative Jimmie Wilson was featured in a summery new song called “Taxi Ride,” composed by German DJ Felix Moese, aka “FXMO.”

The lyrics, written by Wilson himself, describe a drunken evening in the back of a taxi cab, and some raunchy activities that may have occurred back there. Wilson claims that he “…[thinks] that this song could’ve been written by a taxi driver as [he’s] sure they’ve seen a lot on their back seats.”

The song has already had some moderate success, peaking at #31 on the German iTunes charts on August 3rd. Citing the success as inspiration, Wilson and FXMO plan to shoot a music video in the near future.

Nevertheless, he hasn’t forgotten his Eurovision fanbase, as he thanks the Eurovision community for the support of his music.

About Jimmie Wilson

Born in Detroit, Wilson has appeared in various musical theatre productions in the United States and Germany, most notably Sisterella and Hope! – Das Obama Musical. In 2012, he also appeared on the third season of Tylko Muzyka, the Polish version of British reality/talent show Must Be the Music.

In 2017, Wilson represented San Marino in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine, with the song “Spirit of the Night,” a duet with Eurovision icon Valentina Monetta. Despite being the most watched music video for a Sammarinese entry ever, the duo placed last in its semifinal with one point, and last overall.

Since then, Wilson has released a full length album called So Damn Beautiful. He has also been the face of the promotion of the Audi A5 in Germany.
