LISTEN: Aitana and Ana Guerra release new remix of Lo Malo

A new remix of Lo Malo with Tini and Greeicy Rendón sees the bad get badder as the Aitana War anthem prepares to take over Latin America.

Lo Malo gets another revamp and some special guests

Following the shock announcement a few days ago of the collaboration, the new remix has finally been released. Perfect timing for New Music Friday and everyone’s weekend playlists! This new version sees Aitana War team up with Tini and Greeicy Rendón as revealed by Universal Music Peru on twitter.

However this is not the first revamp Lo Malo has seen. It was initially tweaked after Operación Triunfo to tie in with the release of the music video. This third version of the Brisa Fenoy penned track retains the same level of fierceness, but with the addition of some tropical elements. Adding steel drums in the production gives the song a fresh Samba Carnival feel. Along with the extra vocals from Tini and Greeicy it breathes new life into the song all over again. Whilst Aitana War are moving into solo projects, this extra love for Lo Malo shows it’s not just for summer, but all year round!

Who are Tini and Greeicy Rendón?

Tini, full name Martina Stoessel is an Argentine singer, dancer and actress. She made her breakthrough on the Disney Channel Latin America show Violetta. Reaching worldwide appeal with its original music numbers and its follow up Tini: The Movie. Thus Tini’s debut album featuring songs from the show became a chart success. More recently Tini collaborated with Flo-Rida on popular Spanish singer Álvaro Soler’s European wide smash hit La Cintura.

Greeicy Rendón found fame in her native Colombia appearing in multiple telenovela’s, such as Chica Vampiro which saw crossover success in Europe. Branching out into music recently, Greeicy has seen chart success both in Colombia and Mexico with Amtantes and Mas Fuerte.

Ni La Hora goes platinum

While Lo Malo continues to storm YouTube with over 60 million views and Spotify with almost 32 million streams, Aitana War are beginning to reap the rewards of their solo success. Ana Guerra’s debut single Ni La Hora has now reached platinum status in Spain. This means it has sold over 40,000 copies to achieve the certification set by Promusicae who compile the Spanish charts. Aitana’s debut single Telefono has currently sold over 20,000 copies with gold certification and is well on course to reach platinum status in the next chart update.
