According to several Russian newspapers, Zivert and Alexander Panayotov are the two artists left in running to become Russia’s Eurovision 2020 representative.
“I would send Alexander Panayotov”
29-year-old Zivert says in an interview with Sobesednik that “it’s too early to talk about my participation in Eurovision, nothing is known for sure”. She says that just based on the vocal abilities, she would choose Alexander instead of herself.
Panayotov has amazing vocal abilities. In terms of powerful vocals, I would probably even send him, rather than myself. But at the same time, I understand that there are a bunch of other different criteria that are important for participation in Eurovision.
However, Zivert says that she would go to the competition with pleasure. If she was selected to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, she is ready to postpone her numerous affairs in order to closely engage in preparations for the competition.
Alexander Panayotov ready to represent Russia
According to Sputniknews, Alexander Panayotov is one of the shortlisted acts and he is ready to represent Russia in Rotterdam.
I have been mentally prepared for this for many years and now they have my name on some shortlists. I can’t say that I’m not happy about this, of course. But I’m also upset if they don’t choose me.
Aleksandr Panayotov on representing Russia
Aleksandr says that he has no information of who will represent Russia at Eurovision 2020.
Composer Igor Krutoy says that it’s Aleksandr Panayotov who will most likely represent Russia in Rotterdam. At the same time, he noted that he would like to send internet star Tim Belorussky to the competition. Russian producer Iosif Prigozhin also believes that Aleksandr Panayotov deserves to represent Russia at the Eurovision 2020.
