Eurovision 2020 stars react to cancellation news

All 41 artists have given public reactions to the cancellation news and messages to fans

🇲🇩 Moldova – Natalia Gordienko

Via her Instagram, Natalia shared the following statement:

Quarantine prison. Eurovision is cancelled. ⠀

I received an official letter from the organizers announcing that this year the competition will not take place. How it will be further and in what format – it is still under question. ⠀

I support the decision of the organizers, because it is nothing more important than the health of the people. At the same time, I’m sorry we have what we have. But, I’m not in the mood to stay unwell. Take care of your loved ones! ⠀

I embrace you virtually (because for the moment we keep the social distance)!

🇳🇱 the Netherlands – Jeangu Macrooy

🇲🇰 North Macedonia – Vasil

🇳🇴 Norway – Ulrikke Brandstorp

Via her Instagram, Ulrikke gave the following statement:

We have been looking very much forward to being able to represent Norway in Rotterdam, but right now it’s about more important things than a music competition, it’s about life and health. I fully understand that the organizers have come to this decision, so the focus now is on stopping the corona virus around the world. Of course I’m sorry, but now I have to sit down with NRK and find out more about what this means ❤️

  1. It would be good if the Eurovision 2020 CD was released with all proceeds going to various charities across the EBU, to help in the recovery from this awful virus.

  2. Czechia has official short name… use it instead stupid Czech Republic… or use long name for whole countries… f. e. Kingdom of Spain/Republic of Ireland etc
