🇦🇺 Courtney Act to star on ITV2’s Celebrity Karaoke Club

The new ITV2 show comes to screens this Autumn!

Dust off those home karaoke sets you were given in a Christmas box one year. This Autumn ITV2 brings the latest reality music competition to our screens. Celebrity Karaoke Club sees your favourite stars from TV, comedy and music, entertain your lockdown evenings. Including Australia Decides 2019 entrant Courtney Act!

Yes, unfortunately for now the karaoke bars are closed. So ITV2 have decided staying in is the new going out and airing a brand new music entertainment show. BAFTA winning Monkey, the production company behind TV hits such as, Made In Chelsea, The Bi Life and TFI Friday have created Celebrity Karaoke Club. Later this year Courtney Act will compete against fellow stars of the British small screen, such as I’m A Celebrity winner and Gogglebox television personality Scarlett Moffatt, impressionist Luke Kempner, The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett, RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Baga Chipz and X Factor contestant Diana Vickers.

However, much like the entertainment industry itself, this will be every singer for themselves. In a twist to the usual singing competition formats, here performers can sip their cocktails and enjoy the show, like a real karaoke night. But we all know loose lips can sink ships. Which in this case means they can form alliances. Across the six shows, seven acts in each show will perform and judge each other. Before they decide between themselves to vote off one person that will leave the competition. After which more acts will arrive at the bar, hoping to break up the friendships and claim the title of Karaoke Club champion for themselves.

Courtney Act can also sing

Shane Jenek, better known as stage performer Courtney Act has a pedigree of talent and a career that spans both sides of the world. She first hit the spotlight back in 2003 on Australian Idol. From there it was a life of gladrags and glitter for the Brisbane native. Between recapturing a love of music, performing the 2016 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gra anthem ‘Kaleidoscope’, and the art of drag entertainment. Becoming runner-up on the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Early in 2018 this rise to fame saw her win Celebrity Big Brother UK. After which she embarked on a presenting career in the United Kingdom, hosting the first ever Bisexual reality dating show The Bi Life. As well as her own Christmas special entertainment broadcast, The Courtney Act Show. With interviews and performances from guest artists and Courtney herself. Thus she will have no trouble taking down the competition, with that winning combination of vocals, stage presence and charisma needed.

Courtney Act in Australia Decides 2019

Back in 2018 it was revealed that Australia would embark on their first National Final to take place in the Gold Coast. With the best of Australian talent at their disposal, they revealed a diverse list of ten acts. All competing with the aim to become the fifth act to represent the nation at the 64th Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. This included Courtney Act with the entry ‘Fight For Love’. The dance-pop banger finished in 4th place in the National Final with 52 points.

Following her Australian comeback, Courtney would go on to participate in the country’s 16th season of Dancing With The Stars. Where she would finish runner-up, which included a dance performed out of drag. Making history as the first time in the series that two male presenting dancers performed a routine together.
