What is the Black Sea Songwriting Camp?
Is Bulgaria the location where the next Eurovision winning song is created? The Black Sea Songwriting Camp is an 11 day long event where songwriters from all over the world can come together. However, one of the main purposes is to create songs for Eurovision, specifically VICTORIA, who is representing her country Bulgaria in Rotterdam 2021 after the cancellation of the 2020 contest.
Who are attending the camp?
Eurovision fans are sure to recognize some of the names that are currently hanging out at the Bulgarian coast. Among them is VICTORIA, who makes sure to play a big part in the creation and selection of her song for next year. She is joined by another artist who was supposed to represent their country in 2020: Germany’s Ben Dolic!
The artists are also joined by Cesár Sampson, who represented Austria in 2018. His song “Nobody But You” ended 3rd in the contest. The Austrian is no stranger to songwriting for Eurovision, as is also credited as a songwriter on Malta’s 2020 song “All Of My Love”. Other attendees include Swedish songwriter Martin Masarov, Josh Stanley from Monaco and Bulgarian Borislav Milanov. This last one may ring a bell, as he is credited for several Eurovision entries, including “Beautiful Mess”, “Truth”, and “Violent Thing”.
