A wave of The Masked Singer shows is still rolling out through Europe. Norway joins the trend, and just yesterday it was revealed that Melodi Grand Prix 2020 champion Ulrikke was behind the mask of a Troll and she was crowned the winner of the first season of ‘Maskorama’, the Norwegian edition of ‘The Masked Singer’.
Trolling it is!
While many people were certain that Ulrikke was hiding behind Trollet mask she managed to trick/troll them all when she performed as a duet partner with another contestant – The Viking. Also, she posted a video on Instagram dancing with someone else dressed as Troll and it did the job!
As one of the hints she sang a couple of Eurovision songs – the Swedish winners ‘Euphoria’ by Loreen and ‘Fångad Av En Stormvind by Carola’:
Ulrikke at the Eurovision Song Contest
Before participating in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix, she participated in the competition previously in 2017 with her song ‘Places’, which placed fourth overall in the competition.
In 2020, Ulrikke returned to the competition and won Melodi Grand Prix with her song ‘Attention’.Unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the EBU announced earlier this year the cancellation of Eurovision 2020. However NRK later offered Ulrikke a direct qualification for the 2021 final; but she declined the offer. Instead the Norwegian Head of Delegation, Stig Karlsen has suggested we will see Ulrikke in 2021 in another role.
Unfortunately, Ulrikke said she won’t be competing in the upcoming Melodi Grand Prix. Or maybe she is just trolling us? Let us know what you think!
