🇷🇴 Jury to decide Roxen’s entry for Eurovision 2021

"I can't wait to start the journey back to Rotterdam"

The Romanian broadcaster TVR has today revealed that jury will decide which song their representative Roxen will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

#ealtceva

TVR has today started a new phase in their Eurovision 2021 journey. The theme for their 2021 representation is same as the country used last year. Now the slogan #ealtceva (“it’s something different”) represents the new year after exceptional situation last year.

I really think our Eurovision slogan fits perfectly with the whole context. I had a completely atypical year, a lot of challenges and a competition which stretched to almost two years. But in the end, what matters the most is to be healthy so we can see each other again. I am also looking forward to finding out which song I will represent Romania with this year at Eurovision. Whatever it is, I hope you like it and enjoy it. I can’t wait to start the journey back to Rotterdam, recharged with the best energy.

Roxen

A jury formed by the broadcaster TVR will select the song for Roxen. Roxen will record several songs and the demo versions will be sent to the jury. The decision to not to hold a traditional national final was made with budgetary constraints, but also by the rules of social distancing, in mind.

Roxen at the Eurovision Song Contest

After being selected internally by the broadcaster TVR to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, five songs were released by Roxen in February. At the national final the power was given to a professional jury and televoters. Both gave their highest points to “Alcohol You” and it was selected to represent Romania at Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

After the 2020 contest was cancelled due the COVID-19 pandemic, TVR again internally selected Roxen to represent the country at Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
