Friday is the day for lots of new music, and we also get another song from the pre-qualified acts in MGP 2021. This week we get “World On Fire” by Atle Pettersen. The song is written by Atle Pettersen, Jesper Borgen, Magnus Clausen, Alexander Pavelich, and Peter Daniel Newman. He will compete with “World On Fire” in the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 on February 20th!

Atle Pettersen is a vocalist, songwriter and host from Skien.
He is previously known as a vocalist in the band Above Symmetry and The Scheen. In 2014, he won the Scheen Emergenza Festival won, the world’s largest music competition for unsigned bands with as many as 34,000 participants from 150 countries.
Atle Pettersen had his breakthrough in X Factor in 2010, and the same year released his debut single “Light on” as a solo artist. The song reached 6th place on the VG list. In 2011 he released his debut album “Based on a true Story”, which went straight to the 3rd place on the VG list.
Atle is well versed in music competitions on TV, and has alongside his debut in X-Factor been seen in both Stjernekamp 2013 and The Hit 2014. He also won Skal vi danse in 2011.
For the past four years, he has also been the host of Beat for Beat on NRK.
In recent years he has released mostly music in Norwegian and has also written songs for other artists, including “Darkside” for Alan Walker. In the autumn of 2020, he released his first Christmas album «Tusen julelys».
Now his new single and Melodi Grand Prix entry “World On Fire” is available and he will perform it for the first time on Saturday during the semi-final.
