🇩🇰 Ben & Tan reveal DR rejected their submission for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2021

Last year, shortly following the cancellation of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, Danish broadcaster DR confirmed that they would be hosting the 2021 edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix as usual. Furthermore, it was confirmed that 2020 winners Ben & Tan would not be granted an automatic place in the final.

Ben & Tan aimed for 2021 comeback

Nevertheless, in an interview with eurosong.dk, it has been confirmed by Ben and Tan that they did indeed submit an entry to take part in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2021. However, DR declined their submission in favour of the eight finalists announced earlier this month. As a result, Ben & Tan also put forward the track for Sweden’s Melodifestivalen but did not get selected for the live shows.

“Iron Heart” will be released on March 5

The duo’s record company The Arrangement also confirmed that the entry in question is titled “Iron Heart” and will now be released on March 5th, a day before the final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2021. The song was written by Jimmy Jansson, Marcus Winther-John and Emil Lei. Jansson and Lei were also involved in the creation of “YES”. In the meantime, you can hear a snippet of the song at the end of the video embedded below. Fans of “YES” are sure to enjoy this one too!
