XTRA Rehearsals — Second rehearsals for Georgia, Denmark and Czechia

Today is the third day of second rehearsals in Basel, with the last second semi-finalists rehearsing during shorter slots of 20m. The Eurovision social accounts have been publishing the traditional second rehearsal videos, which are short extracts of the TV feed from each performance. The Eurovision website has also released new pictures for each rehearsal.

Below, you can find all the videos in the larger Youtube format (unlisted but made available by the Eurovision app), as well as the new details they and the photos might reveal, and links to the notes taken from the first rehearsal of each country. In this article, we cover Georgia, Denmark and Czechia.

You can find our reviews of the previous second rehearsals in the links below:

The videoclip gives a better understanding of the LED graphics used in the performance. A very grand white moon behind a mountain turns into a red circle as the mountain and forests around drop out of frame. Mariam walks to the frame stage during the video, as the main stage remains bathed in smoke and fog.

The pictures also show some moments, like the dress change, when Mariam leaves her dress/coat to walk out with a more relaxed outfit made of shiny purple pants and a sleeveless tank top.

The videoclip shows an extract right before the end of the song. The visuals are indeed very blue, with some purple and pink with it. It’s a colour schemed that has been used by quite a few entries these past few years (including “Øve Os På Hinanden” in 2021, for Denmark), most of which have not qualified to the final. Will she break the curse?

The clip gives us a good understanding of the curtain’s movements, and of how the dancers are stuck on the ground to swing back and forth during that section. It also shows us the train of Sissal’s dress, which flies behind her as she belts out the final lines of the chorus.

The pictures also show us the moment of the costume change, when Sissal takes off a sort of semi-transparent coat.

The videoclip does not reveal much, being the first chorus. We mainly saw Adonxs, wearing a lot of make-up (much more than in the first rehearsal), performing on the main stage, with LED graphics adding depth to the environment around him. The atmosphere remains very “white”, as expected.

The pictures also show the costume change, when Adonxs drops his coat, helped by his dancers (two of them grabbing the sleeves to take it of, while a third one handles the microphone for a bit, keeping it in front of Adonxs.

The change occurs, logically, before the dance break, which was also photographed.
