Rehearsal review

Firstly, remind yourselves what happened in the first rehearsal:

And now here is what we’ve noticed in today’s second rehearsal:

The big head piece Senhit wore during her first run through is still there. However, today we didn’t see religious images on there, but… Flo Rida. They put his image on there, as well as stickers with his name and a question mark. The PR surrounding Flo Rida and the question whether he will be there or not is still very much prominent at the start of this performance.

However, the question does need to be asked: Do we need him? The replacement for Flo Rida, Don Jiggy, is very competent. Senhit is very enthusiastic throughout the performance and when Don Jiggy joins her on stage, there’s a smile that doesn’t go away. She is thoroughly enjoying it and vocally, she is very much on point as well.

San Marino usually have an interesting staging and this is no different. It’s worryingly good, some would say. The camera angles work, the words on the backdrop keep it simple, yet effective. This is, all in all, very competent.

Qualifier or not?
