Rehearsal review

Firstly, remind yourselves what happened in the first rehearsal:

And now here is what we’ve noticed in today’s second rehearsal:

The dominant colours in Hurricane’s performance are red, black and white at the start of the performance. Sanja takes up the intro vocally, with Ksenija and Ivana doing their lines later on. Ivana is very high on energy throughout the rehearsal. As soon as she gets a solo shot, we see kicks in the air and hair flicks.

On the background, we see the words Loco Loco being written in black and white. We said it in our first rehearsal review and we will repeat it: Hurricane did not come to play. Interestingly, for the chorus, we only see Sanja singing. Both Ksenija and Ivana stick to the choreo there, with the backing vocalists adding to the harmonies so it’s not just Sanja.

It looks like most of the camera angles on point. The girls capture the camera well for their vocal bit and they seem right chuffed at the end of their third run, cheering for themselves a little. Looking at the shots, there’s a good overhead shot when the countdown (1, 2, girls come on) comes on: We then see the floor lighting up with small circles around the singers to highlight the countdown. After that, they stroll to the catwalk and get the party started.

There’s no pyro or dry ice for the third run either. That is a change from their first rehearsal, but question is whether Loco Loco actually needs it. There’s enough aggression and fire in the girls themselves.
