The Norwegian news site, escNorge, revealed the dates for next year’s Melodi Grand Prix after being confirmed by Stig Karlsen, Head of Delegation for Norway. He revealed, that the Norwegian representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest will be selected on February 19th. Therefore will the first semi-final be on January 15th, kicking off the Norwegian selection.
The dates for Melodi Grand Prix 2022:
- Semi-Final 1: January 15th
- Semi-Final 2: January 22nd
- Semi-Final 3: January 29th
- Semi-Final 4: February 5th
- Semi-Final 5: February 12th
- Grand Final: February 19th
It is not yet known, where the competition will take place and if an audience is allowed back to attend the shows next year. In 2020 the semi-finals were held in the H3 Arena outside of Oslo and the final with a record-breaking audience in the Trondheim Spectrum. This year all shows were produced in the H3 Arena.
Meanwhile, the submissions for Melodi Grand Prix 2022 are open until September 15th.
