New Music Friday – this week with KEiiNO, Dami Im, Montaigne & more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Alfie Arcuri – ‘DEVILS LIPS’

Just as many Australians are only now about to discover international freedom, Alfie Arcuri has been working with new producers and songwriters in Europe. After coming top 5 in Russia’s New Wave 2021 singing competition, the Australia Decides 2019 artist is back with new music this week. From the upcoming EP Way Up High, ‘DEVILS LIPS’ is as sinful as its name. Through a muscle-bound video in tribute to the classic photo shoots of the ’80s and ’90s, Alfie challenges the perceptions of expression and identity. As Alfie reminds us of his vocal depth, with his falsetto blending into synth-pop beats.

Elina Born – ‘Linnuteid’

After spending two years away from music, Elina Born is back! Now, the Eurovision 2015 and Eesti Laul star drops new banger ‘Linnuteid’. To those of us outside of Estonia, that means ‘Milky Way’. However this is nothing to do with the famous chocolate brand, this is Elina’s rebirth anthem. Almost a message to herself and others, that no matter how far you go, you can never escape yourself. It is learning to accept the good with the bad and embrace every part of your identity. Thus the music video shows Elina being confronted by various manifestations of her personality. Whilst Elina’s Estonian vocals fuse with a Latin inspired melody.

Samanta Tina – ‘NEMAZ NEMAZ’

Last, but certainly not least on New Music Friday is Latvia’s Eurovision 2020 and 2021 star Samanta Tina. Always looking to surprise her fans with new ideas, new single ‘NEMAZ NEMAZ’ is no exception. ‘Not At All, Not At All’ sees Samanta challenge her range as an artist by taking up rap! Of course the message packs as much punch as Samanta’s rhymes. A hairbrush divorce anthem for anyone coming out of a bad relationship. Although it appears to be someone capable of moving on, it is exposed as a lie and a reminder of the pain that was caused. Due to the ongoing Covid restrictions in Latvia, production for the music video has been postponed. But, Samanta has not ruled out returning to the project in future.
