David Guetta feat. Ty Dolla $ign & A Boogie Wit da Hoodie – ‘Family’ (Annalisa & Julie Bergan versions)
A two for the price of one deal here on New Music Friday! Last week David Guetta released his new single ‘Family’. The worldwide commercial release features pop superstar Bebe Rexha alongside rappers Ty Dolla $ign and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie. However as an innovator of music production, David Guetta has taken the concept of family one step further. Now the single has been exported to include regional versions of the song, such as Sofia Reyes for Central America and IZA for South America. Of course Eurovision fans will notice two familiar names for Europe. They are former Melodi Grand Prix 2013 artist Julie Bergan, who brings her own pop-rap edge to the track. Meanwhile Italian Sanremo star Annalisa gives us a slice of Southern Europe Summer and a rare glimpse of her English vocals!
I am honoured to be part of this choral project and to have been chosen by David Guetta, the number 1 DJ in the world, to represent Italy. Being in this “Family” is exciting and being alongside urban superstars like A Boogie wit da Hoodie and TY Dolla Sign is an incredible artistic stimulus. The song talks about friendship and family and this idea of sharing between various countries makes this piece even more special.

Philippine – ‘Parlons de nous’
Although Barbara Pravi took the C’est vous qui décidez! 2021 crown, another breakout star of that national selection was young singer Philippine with the catchy ‘Bah non‘. Now with a softer chanson, she returns this week with ‘Parlons de nous’. This melodic pop-ballad meaning ‘Let’s Talk About Us’ in English is just as artistic as the music video depicts. Here Philippine is bringing a message of reconnection and trying to build bridges after difficult times. It is a song of hope for those learning to find themselves after what the world has been through in the last two years.
Hanna Ferm – ‘Flyg Fula Fluga Flyg’
Last up this week on New Music Friday, Melodifestivalen star Hanna Ferm returns with Swedish language single ‘Flyg Fula Fluga Flyg’. Through a collaboration with Spotify, the ‘Brave‘ singer is able to showcase herself as one of Sweden’s up and coming talents. Of course Sweden is the home of Spotify. So it makes sense to highlight the best and brightest singer-songwriters from across the country on their platform. With the Studio It’s Hits programme invited artists can exclusively present their covers and original pieces. Despite its cheery beats, this pop entry is far from it! Here Hanna is a woman scorned and wants whoever upset her to know it as she asks them to fly away and take the rose-tinted glasses of a relationship now in tatters, with them.
