Are you ready for the ultimate Maltese collaboration? Destiny (Junior Eurovision 2015 winner, Eurovision 2021), Gaia Cauchi (Junior Eurovision 2013 winner) and Michela (Eurovision 2019) have joined Maxine (former MESC finalist) on a brand new version of her single “Skin Deep”.
Self-love, truth and empowerment
On her brand new music video, Maxine stated the following on her Instagram:
Skin Deep is a song that shares a message of self-love, truth and empowerment. It is all about learning how to love yourself authentically, even in your most vulnerable days. I am truly honoured to have had the opportunity to record this song with such strong, powerful women.

Four talented Maltese stars
This collaboration is bound to delight Eurovision fans and the Maltese public alike. Maxine herself came close to representing Malta at Eurovision, with “Young Love” and “Bombshell” placing 5th and 6th in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Joining her for “Skin Deep” is Destiny who became the second Maltese winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest performing “Not My Soul” in 2015. She also achieved Malta’s best Eurovision result since 2005 with “Je Me Casse” in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with a 7th place finish.
The first Maltese winner of Junior Eurovision, Gaia Cauchi, also appears on the track. “The Start” was victorious in 2013 and gave Malta the right to host their first ever Eurovision event a year later. More recently in 2018, Gaia participated in The X Factor UK, reaching the judges’ houses stage with her group Sweet Sense. On the subject of The X Factor, Michela became the first ever winner of the Maltese version of the show in 2019 earning herself the right to represent Malta in Tel Aviv with the song “Chameleon”. Her qualification to the Eurovision final was Malta’s first since 2016.
