Turin 2022🇧🇬 Bulgaria

Intelligent Music Project release Eurovision 2022 entry “Intention”

We have our first entry for Eurovision 2022!

Last week, Bulgaria’s BNT announced that the previously rumoured Intelligent Music Project will represent the nation in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy. Now, Bulgaria have become the first nation to release their entry for Eurovision 2022.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that Bulgaria’s entry for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest would be released today. “Intention” will be played for the first time on BNT’s morning show, Denyat zapochva s Georgi Lyubenov (The day begins with Georgi Lyubenov).

Speaking to Darik Radio, the group explained:

The song raises the question of each of us’ personal inner struggle with outdated patterns of faith and behavior that pull us back. There is no safe area. There is a useless existence. Finding the right path, however, is a battle, even a war with oneself. Serious intention is needed to win the good!

About Intelligent Music Project

Drummer of the project, Stoyan Yankoulov, will also be a familiar name to Eurovision fans after representing Bulgaria twice at the Eurovision Song Contest with Elitsa Todorova. The duo placed fifth in 2007 with “Water” and narrowly missed out on qualification in 2013 with “Samo Shampioni”. Water’s placing was Bulgaria’s highest until Poli Genova broke the top four in 2016 with “If Love Was A Crime”, which was improved upon again a year later with a second place finish Kristian Kostov’s “Beautiful Mess”.

The project will be fronted by Chilean rock singer Ronnie Romero, the lead vocalist of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. The other four members of Intelligent Music Project are Bisser Ivanov, Ivo Stefanov, Dimiter Sirakov and X Factor Bulgaria winner Slavin Slavchev.
