It is time to head to La Seine Musicale in Paris for day 1 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Portugal, Ireland, Malta, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Georgia, Spain and Poland.

Rehearsal review
Our last rehearsal for today is Poland. Inside La Seine Musicale is Sara James, performing “Somebody”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and France Télévisions.
Poland are ending the first day of rehearsals with an impressive staging. Sara is wearing a pink dress and is surrounded by backup dancers who are carrying around props that look like branches. This matches the backdrop, which also becomes a big, shiny tree. The pink hues of the staging are beautiful, and it’s nice to see a contrast between Sara’s looks and backup dancers.
There is definitely some intense choreography for the dancers, who are making moves that remind me of ballet or synchronised swimming. Poland has really outdone itself with this staging, which is incredibly captivating and could definitely appeal to the target audience of Junior Eurovision too. Vocally it sounds great as well, though Sara benefits from not having to dance. I wouldn’t be surprised if Poland secured yet another victory with this performance.
